Professional work attire is collected and donated to Dress for Success for women reentering the workforce.

Christmas in April

Christmas in April is a non-denominational volunteer organization supported by community organizations/individuals who repair the homes of senior citizens. The section members volunteer annually.

Diaper Drive

Assists families in need with baby essentials.

Education/Literacy Initiative

Initiates activities at William Paca Elementary in Lanham, MD to help build character and stimulate student interest and love for reading.

Foster Care Project

Supports youth who are aging out of the foster care system.

Health Initiatives

Provides health education to the community and informs members about health related issues that affect the Black community.

Legislative Initiative

Advises the membership of legislative proposals and makes recommendations on ways to affect the legislative process on issues of interest to the Section and the community at large.

Oxon Hill Food Pantry

 

Annual monetary donation is made for the purchase of canned goods and non-perishable items.  Section members volunteer monthly.

Promise Place Shelter

In-kind and monetary donations are collected and donated to the Promise Place Shelter located in Capitol Heights, MD for displaced teens.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

In-kind and monetary donations are collected and distributed to selected Prince George’s County residents.

Toys for Tots Christmas Toy Drive

Toys for children aged up to 14 years are donated to the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.

Wreaths Across America:

Remembering and honoring fallen heroes by sponsoring a wreath, volunteering, or partnering with the National Wreaths Across America. The section members volunteer annually.
